Do those intrusive thoughts hit out of nowhere, flooding your mind with anxiety, guilt or shame?

OCD can be intrusive, feel taboo or frightening.

OCD isn’t about the thoughts themselves. It’s about the cycle of doubt, fear, and the behaviors you feel you must do to feel safe, even when you know they don’t help for long.

Your brain is creative and trying to protect you, but it’s become stuck in a loop.

The more you try to figure out or push away these thoughts, the stickier they become. And when talk therapy focuses on why you’re having the thought, it can actually feed the OCD cycle.

Clients come to me for multiple types of OCD:

  • Contamination

  • Harm

  • Reassurance

  • “Just Right” or Symmetry

How OCD Therapy With Me Works

Short-Term Work, Long-Term Relief for OCD

OCD therapy doesn’t have to last forever to make a lasting impact. With evidence-based treatment like ERP and ICBT, most clients start to notice meaningful change in a matter of weeks to months.

  • We’ll identify the patterns that keep your thoughts stuck and how your brain is trying (unsuccessfully) to find certainty.

  • I specialize in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference-Based CBT (ICBT), two of the most effective approaches for OCD.

Exposure + Response Prevention (ERP) helps you reduce compulsions and face fears gradually and safely- especially helpful for clients overwhelmed by rituals, rumination, or avoidance.

Rumination-focused ERP teaches you how to stop engaging with the thought itself and shift your focus toward living.

Interference-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (ICBT) is a non-exposure-based therapy that helps you “out-logic” your OCD by identifying the imagined stories behind the fear, reconnecting with facts, and relying on your senses

  • You’ll develop tools to:

    • Recognize OCD’s patterns and false logic

    • Use “reality sensing” to anchor in what’s actually true

    • Separate from your OCD story and reconnect with your values

    • Learn how to respond to distress without feeding the cycle
