EMDR Therapy
You’ve done the work. You’ve read the books, talked it out, maybe even sat through years of therapy. You know what’s wrong. But change still feels just out of reach and that’s exhausting.
That’s where EMDR comes in.
EMDR Therapy With Me
Isn’t Just for “Big T” Trauma
If you’ve ever thought, “It wasn’t that bad,” or “Other people have it worse, so why am I still stuck?” you’re not alone. EMDR helps people heal from what happened and from what they believed about themselves because of it.
You don’t need a single catastrophic event to qualify. Many of my clients come in carrying invisible burdens: beliefs like “I’m too much,” “I’m not enough,” or “Something’s just wrong with me.” These aren’t just thoughts, they’re patterns etched into your nervous system.
EMDR helps with:
Feeling stuck after years of therapy
Trauma from specific or repeated events
Deep-rooted negative self-beliefs
Overreactions, shutdowns, and anxiety
Repeating patterns in relationships
Feeling disconnected from your body
My Approach To EMDR
I’m EMDRIA-certified, which means I’ve completed the highest standard of training and credentialing available. Beyond that, I consult with and train other therapists who want to deepen their EMDR work.
Over the last year and a half, I’ve been integrating EMDR with Internal Family Systems (IFS), a powerful combination that helps clients heal faster and more completely.
People come to me because they want to go deep. They’re tired of spinning their wheels. They want something that works, something that changes more than just their thoughts. They want relief, movement and freedom.
My Process: Healing With Structure + Safety
-
We talk. If we’re a fit, we schedule a 60-minute intake session to assess your history, map out what’s getting in the way, and create a collaborative treatment plan. You’ll leave with a clear sense of what we’re doing and how.
-
We don’t jump straight into trauma work. We begin by building grounding tools, inner resources, and emotional regulation skills to make sure you feel steady and supported.
-
Using principles from Internal Family Systems (IFS), we explore the inner protective parts of you that have helped you cope. This gives us a deeper understanding of what needs healing and how to do it gently and effectively.
-
With buzzers, sound, or a lightbar, we activate the brain’s natural healing process, similar to REM sleep. You don’t need to retell every detail. EMDR works without reliving the trauma.
-
We always close with care, making sure you leave feeling calm and centered.
-
We use EMDR to help you imagine the changes you want and create new neural patterns that support those changes in real life.
About Me: Madison Liddle, LMHC
New York EMDR Therapist
I provide EMDR therapy for individuals who feel stuck, even after years of talk therapy or personal insight.
As an EMDRIA-certified clinician, I’ve completed the highest level of EMDR training and also provide consultation to other therapists learning this powerful approach. I specialize in integrating EMDR with Internal Family Systems (IFS), helping clients access and heal the deeper parts of themselves that traditional therapy often can’t reach.
Together, we’ll work to reduce triggers, shift long-held negative beliefs, and create lasting change. My goal is to help you move from understanding your patterns to actually transforming them.
If you’re ready to feel unstuck and more fully yourself, I invite you to reach out for a free consultation.
